Advisor Spotlight: Megan

Adult advisors help to run our Nexus, Umbrella, and WAGLY programs. They serve as meeting facilitators and role models, and they help to connect youth with our shared history and vibrant community.

This month we want you to introduce you to Megan, one of our Nexus facilitators! Read on to learn more about this Hawaii-raised clinician who loves to work with middle school youth.

When did you start working with OUT MetroWest?

2015 – I’m proud to say I helped launch Nexus, the state’s first youth group for LGBTQ+ middle schoolers!

What’s the best part of working with LGBTQ+ youth?

I like when they find community and see themselves and their identities reflected in the people around them. I also love hearing about their fun, quirky interests!

Who’s an LGBTQ+ celebrity you’d like to meet?

Again, hard to choose just one. I’d love to meet Janet Mock and Alok Vaid-Menon.

Tell us a fun or interesting fact about you.

Although I grew up in Hawaii, I can’t surf.

We look forward to introducing you to more of the people you’ll meet at OUT MetroWest, so stay tuned!
