Greetings from OUT MetroWest.
Please take a moment to read this special message from Sawyer Bethel.
Dear Friends,
It’s been my privilege to serve as OUT MetroWest Executive Director these last two years.
I initially stepped into the interim leadership role in Spring 2017—as many of you may recall, this was during a major transition period for OUT MetroWest. Since then, with a dedicated team, energetic volunteers, and tremendous supporters like you, we’ve truly made a positive difference in the lives of hundreds of youth, through our supportive, social, and educational programs. And we’ve mapped ambitious plans for OUT MetroWest’s future. However, it’s once again a time of transition. With this start of a new year, I will be pursuing new professional and personal ventures. I am grateful for your friendship and support these last few years, and how together we’ve built communities where LGBTQ+ youth thrive. I wish you a peaceful 2020 and all the best, always, for the youth we care about so deeply.
Sincerely,
Sawyer Bethel, LICSW
Sawyer’s extensive clinical experience working with LGBTQ+ youth and families, coupled with their desire to create spaces and programming that empower young people to more confidently embrace their whole selves, has greatly informed how we’ve refined and expanded our meaningful programs. We are grateful for their commitment to our mission, their deep concern for our youth and families, and their ongoing work toward a better, more just world.
During this transition period, I will be working closely with our staff in the office to ensure that they are fully supported and resourced to continue running our remarkable programs. We will open a search for a new executive director in early February and we aim to hire, for the interim, a part-time administrator who will help implement some of our fundraising and special event plans. We will soon post these openings on our website and social media so that you may share.
Our success—which is realized through the eyes of those we serve—is not possible without your commitment to all that we do. Thank you for your friendship and for your support of OUT MetroWest.
Sincerely,
Donna Tambascio, Board Chair
