We get a lot of inquiries about programming for LGBTQ+ young adults in the MetroWest area. Our programs serve youth through high school. We also allow participation during the year following high school graduation for those who aren’t enrolled in college full-time. A few times each year we also host alum nights for former program participants. But we know LGBTQ+ young adults need more, so we pulled together this list of resources for those looking to find support and meet friends.
Tempo Young Adult Resource Center: Operated by Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Framingham, Tempo is a drop-in center serving people ages 17-24. They often run an LGBTQ+ young adult meeting. Contact 508-879-1424 for more information.
GLASS: Operated by Justice Resource Institute in Framingham, GLASS serves LGBTQ+ young adults of color through age 25.
LGBTQI+ Meetup for Central MA: This web-based group hosts and advertises in-person events for LGBTQ+ adults in Worcester and the surrounding communities. At more than 1,300 members, it’s hard not to find someone with whom you connect in this group.
Pride Movie Nights at UU Wellesley: One of our supporting congregations, UU Wellesley runs this free film series for LGBTQ+ adults. Watching a movie is a low-pressure way to meet new people!
Safe Homes: A little farther west, Safe Homes is a Worcester organization that serves LGBTQ+ people through age 23.
Boston Area Trans Support: To the east, BATS is a weekly support group for trans and non-binary people who are 18+. Meetings are in Cambridge and Dorchester.
Bisexual Resource Center: We’re lucky to have this organization headquartered in Boston. Meetings are often in the Boston/Cambridge/Somerville area.
Pinwheels Cafe: A program of the Holy Spirit Ecumenical Catholic Community, Pinwheels is an inter-generational social venue for LGBTQ+ people and their allies.
Compass: Compass is a support, information, and social group for people assigned female at birth who feel that is not an accurate or complete description of their gender. It meets monthly in Boston.
Queer Hang Space: Fun activities and connection at First Parish Church in Lexington. 2nd Tuesday of the month for LGBTQ+ people through age 24.
