Earlier this year, the family of a recent alum reached out to us to ask how they could help OUT MetroWest. Knowing how much their own child had benefited from our programs, they generously agreed to sponsor our series of WAGLY summer parties.
Summer parties are a WAGLY tradition, historically taking place the fourth Monday of June, July, and August. At these gatherings, we welcome current high school participants, program alums, and family members attending the concurrent PFLAG meeting. Weather permitting, the events are held outside in Elm Park.
Thanks to this alum’s thoughtful family, we were able to make our summer parties extra special this year! Our June event included a food truck, in July we hosted an ice cream truck, and August was an outdoor movie showing complete with concession stand. All events were offered free of charge to participants, and we were thrilled to welcome both new and returning youth.
We’re so grateful to our participants’ families for finding unique ways to support our programs. We can’t wait to see what next summer brings!
