On Monday, July 29, we’re working with The Venture Out Project to improve a section of Bay Circuit Trail here in MetroWest. This community service event is open to queer, trans, and LGBTQ+ young people ages 12-22. No experience is necessary.
The Bay Circuit Trail (BCT) is a permanent recreation trail and greenway extending through 37 towns in Eastern Massachusetts, linking parks and open spaces in fifty-seven Boston area communities.
Volunteers will take on a variety of work projects. In past years, volunteers have installed rock water bars and step stones, built wooden bog bridges, cleared miles of trail corridor, installed trailhead kiosks and signposts, removed invasive plants, cut new sections of trail, and more!
This event runs rain or shine! You’ll bring your own lunch, water, snacks, long pants, and hiking boots. Appalachian Mountain Club trail crew leaders will provide personal protective equipment, tools, instruction, and supervision.
The exact location will depend on the needs and condition of the trail but should be near Marlborough, MA. Space is limited, so secure your spot by signing up today.
