Please welcome Mel Pace as our Executive Director
It’s my sincere pleasure to announce that Mel Pace (they/she) has started as our new Executive Director! Mel brings a wealth of experience in nonprofit management. Their most recent role was as the Projects + Grants Manager at Love Your Labels.
I hope you will all join me in welcoming Mel as they transition to lead us into the next chapter of OUT MetroWest’s history. As we have planned as a Board, Mel’s accession to the Executive Director role will overlap with Whitney’s tenure as Interim Executive Director. This period of on-boarding will help ensure a smooth and successful transition, and will include some formal introductions to community members and partners.
Here is a snippet of what two references had to say about Mel:
“…all this and more speaks to Mel’s skills as a visionary and their ability to motivate peers and colleagues at any level to buy into the mission… Mel is a skilled and professional ED who considers care, liberation, and thriving at every level for everyone.”
“Mel’s strength is in being a visionary, in their collaboration skills and ability to help co-create spaces with others. Mel is a strong leader, and is able to come up with really incredible ideas and also follow through on those ideas. Mel as a leader works to uplift the voices, strengths, and abilities of all people in the room.”
We are thrilled to welcome Mel into the OUT community, where LGBTQ+ youth thrive.

A Message from Mel
I am so honored to join the OUT MetroWest team as the organization’s next Executive Director!
OUT MetroWest’s commitment to building communities where LGBTQ+ youth thrive is inspiring, and I am excited to build on this awesome legacy. To this role I bring experience in nonprofit leadership, community building, LGBTQ+ program management, and DEIB consulting work. I am passionate about co-creating community and providing spaces and opportunities for LGBTQ+ people to flourish.
I am excited to meet you and learn together as we continue to build a brighter future for LGBTQ+ youth. I will be at multiple Pride events throughout June, and I hope to connect with you in person at our annual “OUT on the Block” celebration on June 23rd, from 2pm-5pm at 160 Hollis Street!
